Wood and copper

With his expertly crafted works, Clausen creates an atmosphere of fantasy. Clausen’s mushroom lamps are among his signature pieces. Making use of a variety of regional woods, such as the Myrtlewood, for which the Bandon area is well known. His quest to find and salvage old tree trunks along Oregon’s coastline includes exploring forests, beaches, and rivers. Often submerged or buried, Clausen’s findings require the use of heavy machinery to move the massive lumber, which is then transports back to Clausen’s Riverton woodshop
