Designed in the 1970s by Jonathan De Pas, Donato D’Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi for Poltronova, the Joe Chair is one of the most iconic works of Italian Radical Design. Inspired by American baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, the chair takes the playful form of an oversized leather baseball glove, merging Pop Art sensibility with irreverent sculptural furniture.

Handcrafted in stitched leather, the Joe Chair offers a surprising level of comfort within its bold, exaggerated form. The piece exemplifies the designers’ fascination with scale, humor, and popular culture — hallmarks of the Italian postmodern movement.
