This year, Moderne Gallery (Booth G33) unveils an exhibition that bridges the gap between past and present, bringing together historic design icons from the 20th century and groundbreaking contemporary works from the 21st century. At the heart of the presentation is a celebration of George Nakashima’s pioneering contributions to the Studio Craft movement, alongside a selection of works by acclaimed artists such as Miriam Carpenter, Janice Smith, David Ebner, Ashley Joseph Martin, Caprice Pierucci, Clément Thevenot, Gyokusendo, Estelle Halper, Peter Callas, Tanaka Tomomi, Harry Bertoia, and Bobby Silverman.
The centerpiece of the exhibit is a stunning masterwork by Janice Smith, paired with never-before-seen pieces by George Nakashima from a prestigious private estate. Among these are Nakashima’s iconic Conoid Dining Table, a dramatic single-board masterpiece, and his Special Bahut Cabinet, both of which exemplify his enduring legacy of craftsmanship and innovation.
