Kington’s most iconic weathervane design. Forged, welded and patinated steel. Kington lived with this weathervane in his home. He was particularly happy with this version and was unwilling to sell it while he was alive.

L. Brent Kington (1934-2013) is credited with re-introducing metal craft as an art form in the United States. Kington was born in 1934 in Topeka, Kansas. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1957. After receiving his master’s degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1961, Kington began as a Professor of Metalsmithing at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (SIU).
