Kaname Miyazawa, an alumnus of Tokyo’s esteemed Metropolitan Kogei High School, holds a profound background in cast metal art, a skillset honed under the tutelage of Honma Takusai II, hailing from Sado, located in the Niigata prefecture. His early professional experience was rooted in the Prefectural Testing Centre of the All Arts Crafts Department, a position that greatly informed his subsequent work.

Miyazawa’s remarkable portfolio has been showcased at the prestigious Nitten Exhibitions on five separate occasions (specifically, 1954, 1965, among other years). Additionally, he held an esteemed leadership role as the President of Yamagata Prefectural Arts Crafts Association, often referred to as Yamagata Ken Kogei Kyokai.

His body of work has received numerous accolades, most notably a prestigious award from the Ministry of Education at the renowned Third Flower and Tea Ceremony Related Utensil Exhibition. One of his most celebrated pieces, a bronze ox-themed kimono, was displayed at the Exhibition for Promoting Small and Medium Businesses in Northern Japan, also known as Kita Nihon Chushokigyo Koshinten, earning him a distinguished award.

Most recently, Miyazawa served as the President at the Nagoya Design Capital, representing exhibits from the Yamagata prefecture, further cementing his impact on the arts and crafts scene.
