American ceramicist, Ken Ferguson (1928-2005) received his B.F.A. in painting from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1952 and his M.F.A. from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1958. While in school, Ferguson was known and praised for his work ethic and being extremely productive. Originally, he began as a traditionally functional potter.
