About These Pieces

Maloof’s work is distinguished by his meticulous attention to detail and his mastery of woodworking techniques. These tables feature a hinged drop-leaf top, a sophisticated design element that allows for both aesthetic elegance and practical functionality. The double-sided case, with adjustable shelving on each side, speaks to Maloof’s understanding of both form and utility. Raised on concealed casters, the design allows for ease of movement, adding to the versatility of the pieces while maintaining a clean and refined silhouette.

Each element of this night table has been thoughtfully designed and executed with precision, from the fluid lines of the wood grain to the seamless transitions between surfaces. Maloof’s signature sculpted edges and organically inspired curves are visible throughout, highlighting the artist’s remarkable ability to blend artistry with craftsmanship.

A Rare Masterpiece

As with all works by Sam Maloof, these night tables are more than just furniture—they are pieces of living history, each one imbued with the artist’s unique vision and technical prowess. These custom creations, made in limited numbers, are prized for their one-of-a-kind nature and timeless appeal. The inherent rarity of Maloof’s work, coupled with the distinctiveness of the design, makes this pair of tables a rare collector’s item, offering both aesthetic enjoyment and an opportunity to own a piece of American design history.
